Deserters?

“Do your best to come to me quickly, for Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica.”  (The Apostle Paul)  2 Timothy 4:9

Is there anything that could turn from your faith?  Is there anything that could make you desert Christ?  Are you sure?  Maybe you’re 100% solid; maybe you’ve been a solid Christian since you were young.  But are you positive?  I’ve been a Christian for many years.  I teach in the church.  I’ve helped develop ministries.  I read my Bible daily, and I’ve even led quite a few folks to the Lord…  All that and I’m not 100% sure of my faith!   I guess that’s one of the things that helps me keep things in perspective.  I even rely on Christ to help me keep the faith!

“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed–not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence–continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”  (The Apostle Paul) Philippians 2:12-13
