What are you up to these days? What is the pursuit of your life? Does each day bring a new thing to try? Does the joy in your life seem to ebb with the exhilaration of new things to do, and then they flow with the lows that inevitably come after worthless pursuits show their true colors? Man never really grows until he takes a step of faith to lose his life in favor of serving others and thereby serving the Lord. Everything we selfishly do for ourselves leaves us feeling smaller somewhere down inside. Surely God has created us to do something more than serve ourselves. Surely the rewards in this life and in the next are great if we can only get our eyes off of ourselves.
“One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard: that you, O God, are strong, and that you, O Lord, are loving. Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done.” Psalm 62:11-12
