Oftentimes, when folks I knew in my teens and early twenties find out that I’m a Christian, they just can’t believe it! What’s more, tell them that I’m a minister for our Lord, and they might just pass out! Most people just can’t believe their ears. I’ve lost plenty of those old friends through the years as they’ve touched base with me only to find out I was no longer who they thought I was. Interesting… could God use such a person in His ministry? He surely can, and that’s one of the reasons we’re not supposed to judge unbelievers. Today’s sinner just might be tomorrow’s saint. Will the testimony and the attitude a “pre-saved” sinner see in you bring them closer to the work God has for them, or will it drive them farther away?
“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners–of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.” 1 Timothy 1:15-16
