“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land – not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.” Amos 8:11
If things are not going well in your life, there’s a chance you might be suffering the consequences of a famine of hearing the words of the Lord. When tough times come for those who know the Lord, times generally seem to have a perspective that is God-given. For those who do not know the Lord or the Scriptures, tough times just mean that things seem unfair, out of control and hopeless. If that’s where you find yourself, it doesn’t take much effort to pick up a copy of the Bible and begin reading through the New Testament. If you’ve never done it, you’ll be amazed! And, if you approach it prayerfully and consistently, your tough times are going to have a whole new focus!
“Jesus replied, “Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God?” Mark 12:24
